Stella Futura is now delivering a 750 kW/1400 kWh battery system to its first customer in the logistics industry, ensuring the electricity supply and operations at large-scale warehouses. The battery installation will be completed in July and the system is expected to be fully operational in August.
Batteries have a variety of interesting applications for warehouse and logistics companies, where the back-up functionality is the primary one. Power outages have a significant impact and can result in major operational disruptions and financial losses.
"Partnerships in the logistics industry are important to us because backup power with a large battery capacity help secure our customers' business. The possibilities for so-called service stacking, with multiple benefits from the battery, are also important to include from the start when designing systems. This future-proofs the battery's various capabilities in the longer term as well," says Ulrika Tornerefelt, CEO and founder of Stella Futura.
Stella Futura works with European battery suppliers and together with their partners, they have designed and co-developed both the control system as well as the inverter and transformer for the energy solution for their customer. In addition to backup power in its own operations, the battery also participates in Svenska Kraftnät's ancillary service market, which stabilises the electricity grid while generating revenue.
Stella Futura expects more collaborations in warehousing and logistics, where so-called "green warehousing", with built-in strategies and measures for increased sustainability in warehousing, is now becoming increasingly important for customers and consumers.
"The warehousing and logistics industry will be an even more important sector to us going forward, with great potential to create more sustainable energy solutions together with our customers and partners," concludes Ulrika Tornerefelt.
