Stella Futura and Hub Park are expanding their collaboration with more and larger projects. Stella Futura and Hub Park are now working on about ten projects in SE4, totaling 30 MW battery systems, connected to Hub Park's mobility projects. In the pipeline ahead, there are another 40 MW to be integrated during 2025-2027.
For nearly 2 years, Stella Futura has been working closely with Hub Park to enhance Hub Park's mobility concept by adding market-leading battery systems. The battery systems are designed and dimensioned to supply Hub Park's mobility hubs with various needs such as peak shaving during fast vehicle charging, increased self-consumption from installed solar power, and energy optimization, while also generating revenue through the Swedish Power Grid's balancing market. Offering all the different benefits of the battery system in an optimal way on the same site is what Stella Futura calls service stacking.
Niklas Jeppson, Regional Manager South (Stella Futura) and Michael Olsson, Deputy CEO (Hub Park).
By creating local benefits in the mobility hubs and contributing to local, regional, and national stability in the power grid, both Hub Park and Stella Futura are building a sustainable long-term business. In some cases, Hub Park chooses to own the systems themselves and thus receive the majority of the balancing revenue, while in some sites they choose Stella Futura's Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) offering. In the latter case, Hub Park enjoys all the system benefits of the battery for the local mobility hub but shares the balancing revenue with Stella Futura. In the BaaS case, Stella Futura covers the entire cost of the battery system.
"Both companies have a deep consensus that the green transition must be accelerated by building a resilient and robust green infrastructure that both strengthens locally and supports nationally.", says Ulrika Tornerefelt, Founder and CEO of Stella Futura.
"Hub Park develops mobility properties and areas in several locations in southern Sweden where energy storage through batteries is an important part of contributing to both societal and grid benefits. This is made possible through our important collaboration with Stella Futura. A strong commitment to society and the environment unites our two companies. Stella Futura’s expertise in building long-term battery business behind the meter makes them an ideal partner for us. We look forward to our continued collaboration.", says Michael Olsson, Deputy CEO of Hub Park AB.
