The battery will serve multiple functions according to Stella Futura's Service Stacking model.

The battery system is complemented with critical backup functionality to ensure 24/7 supply of the fully automated warehousing. At the same time, the system is connected and aggregated to the Swedish Power Grid balance market, contributing with significant revenue to the owner of the battery facility. Stella Futura has designed systems to enable potential future relocations, thus increasing flexibility for the customer.

The battery facility will therefore ensure reliable operation for the intended purpose and contribute to local benefit by supporting the local network operator with balance services.

In addition to backup functionality, which ensures critical power supply around the clock, customers contribute to local benefit by offering the battery's services on the Swedish Power Grid balance market. Stella Futura offers power backup and UPS as a service, which is part of a broader Battery-as-a-Service offering where Stella Futura finances the battery for the customer. This means that the customer purchases a backup functionality through a monthly fixed subscription to Stella Futura, which can also be combined with balance services for the battery.
